INTERSAT AFRICA STARTS MARKETING ASTRA2Connect IN AFRICA

Availability of low-cost interactive satellite broadband service for everyone / Expansion of service to West African countries

Nairobi, Kenya, 22 January 2010. – ASTRA Broadband Services (ABBS), a fully owned subsidiary of SES ASTRA, and Intersat Africa, a leading provider of satellite-based internet services and ABBS’ distribution partner for the ASTRA2Connect services in Africa and the Middle East, announced today the official launch of Get2Net Satellite Broadband to customers in East and Central Africa, among those Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. Powered by the ASTRA2Connect technology, the service will be available for end users as of 1 February 2010. At the same time, both companies have agreed to expand their cooperation and to also offer the service in West African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Guinea.

Agreement signed with Intersat Africa for broadband service on new ASTRA 3B satellite

Luxembourg, 10 December 2009. – SES ASTRA, an SES company (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG), announced today that it is further expanding its successful satellite-based broadband service ASTRA2Connect, and will offer the service in the Middle East as of next year. As a result, the company has signed a second service distribution agreement with Intersat Africa, a leading provider of satellite-based internet services based in Kenya, Africa, for broadband services on SES ASTRA’s new satellite ASTRA 3B scheduled for launch in 2010. This agreement follows a recently signed contract with Intersat Africa for the distribution of ASTRA2Connect in ten countries in Eastern and Central Africa.

ASTRA2Connect now reaches 50,000 subscribers.

New packages offered at double the speed of its current broadband service.

Luxembourg, 7 October 2009. – SES ASTRA, an SES company (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG), announced today that its interactive satellite broadband service - ASTRA2Connect – is now used by more than 50,000 subscribers, an important new milestone in the successful development of the service.  The company also announced that it has introduced new service packages that significantly increase the available speeds of the service, with download rates of up to 4,096 kbit/s and upload rates of up to 360 kbit/s. The expanded offering enables customers to choose from a variety of flexible service packages in order to meet their requirements for high-speed internet access and high quality internet-based telephone calls (VoIP).
